Purpose:
The Save Money and Reduce Truck Emissions (SMARTE) program aims to improve industry awareness of freight traffic effects on air quality, promote the use of SmartWay® verified technologies, and encourage industry specific best practices.
Description:
The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is partnering with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and private sector transportation companies in a program designed to help freight companies and drivers. The SMARTE program's mission is to promote fuel savings and emissions reduction in the trucking industry.
