Air North Texas

Air North Texas

Purpose:
A regional public awareness campaign and partnership that seeks to improve air quality in North Texas.
Description:
Air North Texas is a regional public awareness campaign with a goal of improving air quality in the North Texas region. As codified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and administered by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), ten North Texas counties currently fall under nonattainment for the air pollutant ozone. The region must show progress towards compliance with ozone emissions standards in order to receive highway funding. The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) created a task force of government agencies, nonprofits, transportation authorities, and others to create the Air North Texas campaign and increase awareness of the need for air quality improvement. The website includes resources, the Clean Air Corner blog, and advice on how to implement clean air strategies in your home.
