Water Exploration Curriculum
Purpose:
To educate high school students on water resources issues and promote research-based learning.
Description:
Water Exploration, developed by the Texas Water Development Board, various Texas teachers, and the Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin, is a 3-module curriculum for high school students. These modules, called Legcacy Cycles were made to be developed for use in courses such as Earth and Space Science, Advanced Placement Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Aquatic Science.
The curriculum is entirely web-based and allows students to conduct inquiry learning using their computers. The three modules, Water Basics, Water-Earth Dynamics, and People Need Water, enhance understanding of water-related issues. Student will be able to test their knowledge after completing engaging challenges.
