DOE Zero Energy Ready Home Program
DOE Zero Energy Ready Home Program
Purpose:
A certified Zero Energy Ready Home (ZERH) Program represents a whole new level of performance with rigorous requirements that ensure outstanding levels of energy savings, comfort, health, and durability.
Description:
A DOE Zero Energy Ready Home is a high-performance home that is energy-efficient enough that a renewable energy system could offset most, if not all, the home's annual energy use. Each home must meet a rigorous criteria for both efficiency and performance that is verified by a qualified third-party. Most types of new homes in the U.S. are eligible to participate.
Certified homes are eligible to receive the Federal 45L Tax Credit - up to $5,000 per home, until 2032.
