2030 Districts designates urban areas across the country that are seeking to foster sustainability through the built environment.
2030 Districts is a nonprofit comprised of member cities and organizations with a common goal of fostering sustainability and resiliency via the built environment. A diverse set of stakeholders, including property owners/managers, local governments, businesses, and community members, work together to reduce resource use and integrate climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies into urban areas. The organization has established the 2030 Challenge, a plan to achieve ambitious energy, water, and transportation--associated emissions reductions over the next decade. Members develop, benchmark, and share strategies to meet the 2030 Challenge and make cities across the globe more sustainable.
