Purpose:
The Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center's mission is to inspire the use of native plants and to improve water quality, provide habitat for wildlife, and enhance human health and happiness.
Description:
The Wildflower Center realizes its mission through research, plant conservation, ecological design, landscape restoration and sustainable landscapes. Educational programs are aimed at adults and youths and provides spring break and summer camp opportunities to educate campers to become lifelong conservationists while they explore native plants and learn about the environment. The Wildflower Center also offers grants for K-12 schools interested in starting their own wildflower meadow.
